Romeo and Juliet (Debate) *Dance Show*

In the book Romeo and Juliet,  its about how when they see each other for the first time they fall in love. They decide to get married. In our class we had a debate, our debate was if Romeo's love towards Juliet was it true love or has love. Some people choose its was true love and some people taught it was harsh love. I was in the undecided side because both sides were right, correct because Romeo loves Juliet, cares about her, and he will die for her. But its also harsh because Romeo doesn't know that she is a Capulet, and when he finds out he realizes that her true love is her enemy.

One example i think is a harsh love is because Romeo kisses her and then he gets married with out getting to know her better, and also you may not know if Romeo is looking for a distraction to get Rosaline out of her mind and etc. For example "unfold the imaged happiness that both receive in either by this dear encounter." This shows that Romeo loves was harsh because it shows that Romeo still likes Rosaline and and he can't choose between Rosaline and Juliet. Another example is that "With Rosaline? No. I have forgot that name and that name's woe. This shows that Romeo has forgot her name and all about her, but this shows harsh because Rosaline was her love, and he wanted everything with her but she didn't like him.

In conclusion this shows that Romeo's love is harsh because it shows that Romeo may look for a distraction to forget about Rosaline and only being with Juliet for pleasure, and just forgetting that she ever existed in his life.

In the book called "The Maze Runner” By James Dasher it talks about how this kid named Thomas, he lost his memory. And know kids are bullying him because he doesn’t know how to defend himself, and there confusing him. But then he meets this nice boy. These boys are making Thomas feel better and making him feel that everything is going to be all right.

The Maze Runner is about this kid named Thomas losses his memory, along the book he meets this boys along. For example a tick heavily muscled Asian kid folded his arms as he studied Thomas, his tight shirtsleeves rolled up to show off his biceps. This realize that they’re crazy people out there, because the boy wanted to show off that he has strong muscles, and making Thomas feel that he will never get to a level that there in. Another example he meet a dark skinned boy frowned-the same one who’d welcome him. This means that in this book and in life there are crazy people, but also friendly just like this boy. These quotes from the book impact Thomas because the bullies are making Thomas feel that he doesn’t belong to this world, and he is not worth anything.

In conclusion in live everything happens lost memory, etc. If you have any of this people are going to confuse you, the best way is to go to the people, that they know you and that you know them, so they could tell you their version of what happened.

Non-Fiction Article

In the article called “Czar Putin?” by Patricia Smith, so far it talks about that Russian president Vladimir Putin is describe as a ruthless man, and most dangerous man in the world. Then ever since Putin was charged people thought that he was a strong leader. But in a few years everything changed in Russia. Then Russia is one of the biggest oil producer in the world. Also “With the price of oil sinking, the Russian government suddenly has a lot less money to spend- on programs at home and adventures aboard”. This means that Russia is going to spend a lot of money in a lot of programs for the kids.
This article is about

   1.      Injustice
2.      Cruel
3.      Ruthless
4.      Disappointing
5.      Fighting
6.      Aggressive
The author is trying to say that in Russia there is a lot of things happening since Putin is in charged, for example “a few years ago, he even jailed members of an all-female punk band for singing anti- Putin songs”. Also “at the same time, Russia’s economy boomed, driven by a surge in the price of oil, Russia’s biggest export. This means that in Russia there is a lot of trouble dealing with oil one of Russia’s biggest companies or export they’re dealing with.
I realized that you have to choose the right president for the country you’re living in, for example in Mexico the president is not doing anything to rescue some teens that are still missing and parents are demanding him. Another example in Russia the President Vladimir is not doing a good job towards his job is because in Russia they have some problems with oil and th people in Russia need oil for their families. This is why we need to choose who is responsible and able to take care our country.

Reading Response on Hunger Games

Evelyn Corona                                                                                                        806
In the book called “Hunger Games” By Suzanne Collins, it’s about how they have 12 districts of Panem, and chose 2 people from each district. In district 12 they chose a girl but her sister but her sister named Katniss Everdeen volunteer so she could protect her sister. Also televised the fights and deaths of the teenagers that participated in hunger games.

The Hunger Games bird represents the hunger games and symbol of the rebellion. It also represents the mockingjay pin is a sign of rebellion to the capitol. Weather it means no harm. Also the Hunger Games salute represents the left hand to their lips and holds it up. It also means thanks, it means admiration, it also means good-bye to someone you love. This makes me realize that sometimes in life you need to stand up for your siblings and fight or defend your people, just like katniss did for her sister so she won’t have to enter in the games and for district 12.

In this book the hunger games is about 12 districts competing with each other and this also means that katniss  defends her family and defend district 12. And this also shows that this affects the real world because the older person defends everybody from danger and defends them with their life.

RR- Comeback By:Vicki Grant

Have you ever wonder what you might do for your parents / adults or someone you really care about. Well authors make us realize how characters in each book might react to their parents, in this book it talks about how this girl named Ria is falling apart when she finds out that her dad has crashed into a plane crash, also her parents are divorce and she has to move in with her mom and trying to prevent from that happening.  In chapter 1 she is living a good time in town with her dad, boyfriend and a kid she barely talks too. In the beginning of chapter 5 it talks about how ria learns that her dad’s plane had mechanical problems, because they believe that he went down over to Lake Muskeg only to find out that the rescue team only found tiny bits of the plane, but there was no luck for ria or her father. This shows that any kid would do anything for their parents because it’s important to them that they don’t suffer dangerous danger or get anybody hurt. This connects to real life because there are a lot of crazy people outside and making danger and showing a bad model towards the little kids and when they grow up they start acting the same way they acted to other adults and hurt them.

Non- fiction Response

                                         Nonfiction Reading Response

In the article called “Food Fight!” by Unknown author, it talks about it was a protest against Russia’s in Netherlands. It shows that these 1000 Dutch teens; they spent an hour last month pelting each other with 120,000 tomatoes. This shows that the Russians were mistaken for thinking they can boycott of fresh produce from Europe. This also shows that the Russian’s and the boycott are taking away overripe fruit and veggies. Although they made a protest to let the president f Russia to let them sale fruit and veggies, but also their were friends that were helping them out and throwing tomatoes at them. The author wants us to teach us that they want the people that don’t live in Russia and in Netherlands they want to joined them into their protest and win the protest.

The author explains how in March, Europe and the U.S. imposed trade sanctions on Russia for annexing Crimea and supporting pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine. This shows that people didn’t not like how the president was running the country. This is why Russia supported Netherlands, Europe and the USA joined in together. This is why the author made a protest to let the people in Russia make them realize that everyone needs fruits and veggies.

After reading this article it made me realize that I agree with the Dutch teens because they made a protest on how they could bring in people into their debate and how they could show that taking away the fruit and veggies that could make them healthy and without their veggies and fruits they will be eating junk food and make their body weak because they body need protein in their organism to help you to be strong.

Darkness to visible

The Article called "Darkness to visible" By Megan Cox Gurdon. In this article it talks about how young adult literature can be dark for teens. On page 1 paragraph 3 it talks about "How dark is contemporary fiction for teens? This means that teens are reading about kidnapping and pederasty, incest and brutal beatings. It also says that just part of the run of things in novels are directed, broadly speaking. That children from ages of 12-18 are reading these violent books that are still not for them.

The Author addresses that “Entertainment does not merely graffiti taste, after all, but it creates it. MCG supports her opinion that if you think it matters what’s inside a young person’s mind, surely it; is of consequences what he reads. Also this is old dialectic- purity vs. despoliation virtue vs. smut- but for families with teenagers, it is also everlasting new.

I agree with MCG because teens look for a book or video games and then they get it into their brains and then they act it just like in the movies and they put everybody in danger and get into more trouble.
